Question 1. What does Lencho have complete faith in? Which sentences in the story tell you this?
Answer. Lencho have completed faith in God and he believed that God would try to solve all his problems. This can be seen through some sentences given in the story:
a. But in the harts of all who lived in that solitary house in the middle of the valley; there was a single hope; help from god.
b. All through the night, Lencho thought only of his one hope: the help of God, whose eyes, as he has been instructed, see everything, even what is deep in one’s conscience.
c. “God,” he wrote, “if you don’t help me, my family and I will go hungry this year.
d. He wrote “To God” on the envelope, put the letter inside and, still troubled and went to town.
e. God could not have made a mistake, nor could he have denied Lencho what he had requested.
f. It said: “Of the money I asked for, only seventy pesos reached me. Send me the rest, Since I need it very much.
Question 2. Why does the post master send the money to Lencho? Why does he sign the letter God?
Answer. The post master sees the the deep faith of Lencho in God. He doesn’t want Lencho to lose faith in God. He collects some money from his employees and this way he sends 70 pesos to Lencho. He signs the letter with the name God so that Lencho thinks that God has sent him the pesos. He signs the letter in God’s name so that Lencho does not lose faith in God.
Question 3. Did Lencho try to find out who had sent the money to him? Why or why not?
Answer. No, Lencho did not make any effort to find out who had sent him the the m0ney because he had deep faith in God and he could not even think who else had sent him the money.Perhaps her also wondered why anyone other than god would send him money.
